The Natural Resources Defense Council’s [NRDC] Midwest Office expansion was the first project to earn the Material Petal Certification under the Living Building Challenge v3.0. The design of the office expansion took advantage of narrow slivers of space to maximize light and balance open office with collaborative spaces. The light, clean color palette combined with incorporation of natural and living materials contributes to the healthy and calm working environment, while also performing several functions such as sound absorption and air filtration.
